www.electroambientspace.com (August 2010):
"Andy Lintern aka Rekalix is back with Linearity, a 4-track EP available for free download. Whereas his debut Frozen Planet was more traditional, melodic electronic music, this is Lintern’s exploration of minimal dub. “Sea Cucumber” is cool as a, well, you know, with a slowly, gently meandering bass line and sparse electronics, with a bit of vocal samples in the background. This is very good chill-out music with an extremely pleasant vibe. The title track starts with a bit of glitchy gritty goodness and abstract warbling electronics. The bass is deeper and richer, the dub element getting heavier thought the tone remains mellow. “Purple” includes an interesting female narrative, again with minimal backing in the form of a synth here and a drum beat there, this time with the bass line gradually disappearing from the mix. “Kalma” is, like the others, similar but unique, the four tracks fitting neatly together to form a unified whole. Though I prefer the softer melodic airy touch Frozen Planet, Linearity is certainly a worthy diversion from that."
